Phillip Bimsteins on NPR

Heard on All Things Considered
June 20, 1997

Composer Phillip Bimstein makes music out of a door closing or the tree frogs in his yard. His most famous composition…which has not only won awards but received a considerable amount of airplay on college and alternative radio…features the voice of his neighbor and his neighbor’s cows. It goes without saying that Bimstein is not your typical ivory tower composer – he’s also the mayor of Springdale, Utah. NPR’s Howard Berkes has a profile.
